MSD will participate in BioForum 2011, the 10th edition of the Central European Fairs for Biotechnology and Bio-Business in Lodz. The company will also be a participant of BioPartnering, which takes place during both days of the event.
MSD, known as Merck in the US and Canada, is a worldwide pharmaceutical industry leader, with approximately 94,000 employees, globally who works with customers in 140 countries. Long known for its innovative research and development, MSD provides innovative medicines and vaccines to help improve health and well-being.
In September 2010, MSD opened the innovative Data Processing Centre of Clinical Research in Warsaw. One of only three such facilities in the world, the Centre collects and analyzes data from clinical trials conducted on a global scale, with a focus on studies conducted in Europe. The Centre employs nearly 100 multilingual specialists in the areas of biology, biotechnology, medicine, pharmacy and basic science. Patients will also profit from this investment through better access to innovative medicines being used in clinical trials.
Dr Erik Lund from External Scientific Affairs of MSD, who oversees the regions of Scandinavia and Central Europe, indicated his enthusiasm for attending BioForum for the first time and looks forward to participating in the 'BioPartnering' meetings.
BioForum Fair is an international platform that brings together biotechnology, pharmaceutical and life science business sector. One of the main objectives of the fair is that companies participating in it are capable of taking the direct cooperation in the framework of the so-called BioPartnering. BioForum is a great opportunity for obtaining direct contacts with Bio-Business leaders and the leaders of R&D projects with the highest potential for implementation. The event en compasses Central and Eastern Europe, Asia and America, which testifies to the scale of the project.
