Four IT and four Bioscience companies have been shortlisted for the Cambridge Phenomenon Award 2010 – selected as the most exciting companies of the future - by a panel of judges. The companies are all located within the UK's greater Cambridge area, have been in existence for at least two years and are privately owned. The winners, one IT and one Bioscience company, will be selected at the Cambridge Phenomenon 50th anniversary conference by the delegates.
In partnership with sponsors Microsoft Research, ARM and Price Bailey, the judging panel evaluated more than 100 companies, a number demonstrating the strength of innovation in the greater Cambridge area, to choose the shortlist of eight below.
The Bioscience shortlist: Astex; Cellcentric; Horizon Discovery; Senexis.
The IT shortlist: JAGEX; Owlstone; PlasticLogic; Ubisense.

The Cambridge Phenomenon 50th Anniversary Conference takes place on October 5th, 2010. The day will be structured around four themes: IT; Biosciences; Funding; the Future and will feature provocative presentations and challenging panel discussions.
Timed to coincide with the 50th Anniversary, the backdrop to the event will be the growth of Cambridge as a hub of innovation. But the focus will be squarely on the future. Delegates will have an inside track on the remarkable developments happening in IT and Bioscience and be in a privileged position to understand what the future holds.
