Free live virtual event on clinical diagnostics

BioConference Live, a leading web destination for online-only events for the Life Science and Clinical Diagnostics markets, today announced several speakers and sponsors for the upcoming edition of BioConference Live: Clinical Diagnostics to take place Wednesday October 20th and Thursday October 21st 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EDT.

This edition of BioConference Live, which spans two days, includes presentation sessions of interest to the clinical researcher in Cancer, Cardiology, Hematology, Infectious Disease, Lab Automation, Laboratory Testing, Molecular Diagnostics and Point of Care.
On Wednesday, October 20th at 12:00 Noon EDT, Alan Wu PhD will be presenting on “The Emerging Role of Pharmacogenomics in Clinical Research and Practice.” Dr Wu is Chief of Clinical Chemistry & Toxicology & Professor of Laboratory Medicine at San Francisco General Hospital and University of California, San Francisco. Also joining Dr. Wu on Wednesday’s program of speakers is Gyorgy Abel M.D. Ph.D. who will be presenting on “HPV Molecular Testing in Cervical Cancer Screening” at 4:00 PM EDT. Dr. Abel is the Director of Clinical Immunology and Molecular Diagnostics at Harvard Medical School.

On Thursday October 21st, James Nichols PhD, DABCC, FACB, will be speaking on Thursday October 21st at 10:00 AM EDT on the topic of “Point-of-care testing: What is it and why does everyone want it?” Dr Nichols is Medical Director of Clinical Chemistry at Baystate Health and Professor of Pathology at Tufts University School of Medicine. At 4:00 PM EDT that same day, Keith C. Ferdinand, MD, FACC,FAHA, will be sharing a presentation with attendees on “Strategies for the Management of Hypertension: What to Expect from JNC 8.” Dr Ferdinand is the Adjunct Professor at Morehouse School of Medicine, and Clinical Professor, Cardiology Division at Emory University. Dr Ferdinand is also Chief Science Officer for the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC). An additional twenty speakers are confirmed for BioConference Live.
