Integromics, a leader in IT solutions provision for life sciences in the areas of genomics and proteomics, has selected Dr Michael J McManus as President & CEO. Dr McManus will lead the company’s efforts to expand in the world market, with a particular focus on proteomics and on further developing Integromics’ activity in the US and Asian markets.
Jose Maria Carazo, principal founder, Integromics said: “We performed an extensive search to identify and secure someone with Michael’s background, which is unique in the life science informatics business. Integromics needs someone who understands both the software and scientific markets in the US, Europe and Asia and the science. By combining his deep scientific expertise and broad international business experience, Michael can lead Integromics to a new level of growth in the life sciences informatics market.”
“Integromics has an impressive team that has enabled the company to produce and market world-class products,” said Dr McManus. “The company combines well-established and well-regarded products, such as StatMiner and IBD, with a growing revenue base and solid partnerships. In addition, the team has been working diligently on its latest product; an analysis suite for Next Generation Sequencing data. A pre-release version of this NGS product was used to perform the data analysis in a recent Nature paper. I am delighted to join such a highly dedicated team of professionals, and I plan to expand the company’s product offerings from its roots in micro-array analysis and qPCR analysis to proteomics and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).”
Dr McManus, 52, has over 25 years of scientific software and business experience, including operational management, business development, strategic planning, research and development, product marketing and product management expertise.
Prior to joining Integromics, Dr McManus led GenomeQuest’s corporate marketing, strategic alliances, product marketing and product development efforts. Before joining GenomeQuest, Dr McManus served as Vice President of Business Development for the BioSciences Group of Fujitsu Computer Systems, where he set up and initiated the group's US operations and as Executive VP and COO of AnVil InformaticsInc. Prior to AnVil, he served as Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at CambridgeSoft Corporation.
